Carpets supplied for Vintage Austin car club.
We have just supplied carpet for a Vintage Austin car club, whom will use the carpet to fit out their fine cars, some models dating back to the 1920's. We were initially contacted by Mr. David Chaundy, an editor of the car club's magazine who was seeking carpets on behalf of several club members around the world. The car featured in the picture is a 1924 Austin 12/4 Clifton tourer
Once the carpets had been collected by Mr. Chaundy, we received an email which is copied below.
"I have to say that all of my dealings with yourself and indeed everyone at Grosvenor Wilton have been a pleasure for me. You and your staff have been generous with your time and expertise. Great care was obviously put into the production of the stippled carpet you made for me with everyone striving to get it just right.
I thoroughly enjoyed watching it being woven and talking to the staff in your factory. It meant a great deal to me to see the carpet being made after so many years of obsolescence. The carpet you made is every bit as good if not slightly better than the original carpet Austin used back in the 1920's, I'm highly delighted with it."
