About Wilton and weaving

Using Traditional Wilton wire looms, Grosvenor Wilton carpets are woven with premium quality 100% wool and wool rich blends using fine Worsted or woollen yarns.

Capable of creating cut or loop pile (also referred to as Brussels weave) or a combination of cut and loop pile, our looms, some of which are 100 years old efficiently weave carpet to the highest possible standard.

Carpet can be woven in a variety of widths from 0.69m to 1.37m, suitable for corridor work, runners and wall to wall installations.

Bespoke specifications

Our Worsted Wilton qualities are offered in both cut or loop (Brussels) pile constructions. The pile yarn is 80% worsted wool, 20% nylon, 100% wool is an option. The high tuft density (147,000 tufts per square metre) gives enhanced design definition with excellent colour reproduction.

Our Commercial Contract qualities are based on cut pile constructions using 80% wool, 20% nylon pile yarn. These commercial contract constructions can be tailored to meet the client’s specific needs and are too numerous to detail here. Please contact us for more information. 100% wool constructions can be made available and we are happy to advise suitability for the client’s end use.
