Case study: The Royal College of Physicians of Ireland, Dublin
Interior design companies were invited to submit proposals for the refurbishment of the Royal College of Physicians in Dublin. One company was Thurston Associates who contacted our company prior to securing the contract and commissioned us to search the design archive highlighting designs considered suitable for each room. Having the styling boards for each scheme as a reference, designs were coloured to suit the proposed schemes and prints were supplied.
When the contract was awarded, design and production work progressed quickly in partnership with both Thurston Associates and contractor Linney Cooper. Of particular note was Graves Hall a grand room with 3 imposing chandeliers. An adaptation of an archive paper was used to create a Chlidema square, featuring three 6’ wide octagons each situated directly below a chandelier.
